We will be having an artist gallery section to display the wonderful work of our artists here that do not have a manga. So send us what you have! Deadline is October 10th. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask here or email either me at: ekormekolindo@yahoo.com Or the assistant editor, anime4christ: anime4christ@gmail.com Also, when submitting something, I would appreciate it if you could send two copies of the email; one to anime4christ and one to me. Thank you! ~ Eko |

| What are the preferred sizes and file formats for submissions? |
| Posted by: water_wolf_angel Aug 15 2009, 11:45 PM |
| I will help any way I can! ^^ |
| Posted by: ekormekolindo Aug 16 2009, 11:21 PM |
| Darkerpaths, For sizes, I would prefer to keep the stories to an 8 page max. Manga chapters to 12 pages. Articles: 6 pages. Art: As big as you can give me and as high of a resolution as I can get. I can handle just about any format. Send it in whatever format you have it in and I can convert it myself if I need to. If I have any problems I would then request a specific type but it shouldn't be a problem. |

| uhm... I'll help if I can... |
| Posted by: darkerpaths Aug 19 2009, 05:01 AM | ||
wow that's vague... any size or shape of paper is acceptable for the manga? any orientation? any font for articles, any line spacing or font size? |
| Posted by: Rose Aug 21 2009, 11:40 AM | ||||
darkerpaths, when I did the mangazine it really was easy to convert almost any size. But then again, we are all amatuers at creating a zine. Do you have any suggestions for a standard size (maybe based off of one of our mangazines you've reviewed)? I'm sure eko would appreciate it |
| Posted by: anime4christ Aug 21 2009, 08:28 PM | ||||
So far we have published the zine in letter size, portrait orientation, so I would imagine that is the preferred paper size and orientation. As for fonts, spacing, etc. on articles: I don't think it matters since we would make all the articles have the same font settings for most of the text so the zone would be consistent. |
| Posted by: darkerpaths Aug 22 2009, 07:22 AM |
| For articles, I would set a specific font size, that allows for the 6 pages of text to fit into the text areas you set inside the 'zine, unless you're just printing them like school essays. I would say that you should have them use the font and size you intend to use in the magazine, or a close approximate font. If you go this way you might want to specify double or single spaced, since there would be a large difference in the amount of content between a single spaced and a 1.5, double or triple spaced 6 page article. Another way would be to set 6 pages of filler text in the page you plan to use in the font and size you plan to use and then round it down slightly and give out a word limit rather than a page count. As for manga... other than the bleeds, you have everything covered with your second post. |

Oh, I see what you mean. I didn't understand your purpose correctly the first time. My apologies. I'll leave that for eko to answer then. |

| What time tomorrow us it due and what kind of art is allowed? I mean, does it have to manga/anime related? |
| Posted by: Rose Oct 10 2009, 11:02 AM |
| hm.. sees like the plan was to have the issue out this month. ??? |
| Posted by: Rose Oct 10 2009, 11:04 AM |
| oh i c. the first post says TODAY is the deadline. I really hope we got some entries. I don't know if I actually agreed to doing an article but I decided not to with the hectic-ness of my life now. |

| I was meaning to write an announce reminding contributors of the deadline. Since I forgot to post s reminder earlier, and we haven't gotten much sent in yet, we've decided to extend the deadline one week. So October 17 is the new deadline. |

| Posted by: Ante Bellum Nov 2 2009, 03:23 AM |
| I haven't heard anything about this yet. If I already sent something in and found a mistake, can I fix it and resend it? |
| Posted by: Rose Nov 2 2009, 11:20 AM |
| when are you guys thinking this edition will be out? I would like to pick up one. This project definitely takes a lot of dedication and time. You really have to run after people to get submissions! |
| Posted by: anime4christ Nov 3 2009, 02:38 AM |
| @Ante: Sure, you can resend your submission. @Rose: Due to lack of submissions and both mine and Eko's overloaded schedules, we've decided to postpone the release of the issue until December. I'm still working on some submissions myself btw, so in any case, the zine won't be published til then. I asked eko to announce the postponement of the release, but she didn't. Hopefully we will have enough to publish by December (it won't take too much, just for now, it's a pretty slim release; I would really like to have more). Lately it's been getting a lot harder to get submissions and all the effort we put into it just doesn't seem to pay off anymore. I fear this might be the last issue of AA we release. I didn't want to say this, but I'm just being honest. I saw it coming and tried to do something about it, but it didn't work. That said, I will push on to get this issue out and I feel it's even more important to make this a great issue, since it might be the last. |
| Posted by: Ante Bellum Nov 4 2009, 10:36 PM |
| Okay, I'll fix it and send it back in. Too bad this is the last issue. If I get any other works done that I think could be in it, I'll probably send it in. |
| Posted by: ChristianAnimeGirl Nov 21 2009, 08:00 PM |
| Are you still looking for submissions? I am VERY interested! And I don't think you should give up JUST yet! If you're still looking, I can not only send in short stories, but some of my own manga pages, and artwork as well. Also, my brother can get in on this, too! He can send in some random artwork from our anime, and he can maybe send in a short manga one-shot. If this is okay, let me know more details. If the deadline has not been lengthen, then....oh man! XD ~*~Katie-chan~*~ |

Yea I completely understand. It's SO hard to get ppl to send in stuff when you are trying to keep a deadline, also, since it's not being picked up much or gaining in popularity I cannot see a good reason to continue on. Life is full enough |
| Posted by: anime4christ Nov 21 2009, 11:03 PM | ||
Yes, we are still accepting submissions. We are planning to release this issue in December. What time December is still not decided, but I think we should release it before Christmas, so we should accept submissions until the third week of December (we will need time to put things together and finalize though, so I doubt we will be able to add anything after that). If people would like the zine to go on, we could use some more editors who know how to work with DTP software, but most importantly, we need contributions. |
| Posted by: ChristianAnimeGirl Nov 22 2009, 07:46 PM |
| How much is 1 person allowed to submit to the zine? I could submit like some of my manga pages, maybe a quick omake one-shot of another, and a short story. My bro could send it like a few manga pages. Also, what files should it be, and what size??? I can only send like PNG files for my manga, and my stories are WordPad, I cannot make PDFs |
| Posted by: anime4christ Nov 22 2009, 11:06 PM | ||
You can submit as much as you like. If we make any more issues, we could save any extra material for a future issue. For images, as large as they are is fine; it's better if they are over-sized and have to be scaled down rather than the other way around. PNGs are good; personally I prefer them over JPG and other formats that use lossy compression since I like to do the final compression myself. Wordpad format is fine too. |

| I sent in some pages of my manga. Didn't have time to post in a Short Story. Maybe next time.... |
| Posted by: anime4christ Dec 5 2009, 05:00 AM |
| Thanks guys. |
| Posted by: anime4christ Dec 15 2009, 09:16 PM |
| Just a reminder: this Saturday is the last day for submissions. |
| Posted by: Ante Bellum Dec 20 2009, 07:26 PM |
| Ah, I think I might have missed it! I'll send it right away if you'll still take it. |
| Posted by: ChristianAnimeGirl Jan 1 2010, 09:57 PM |
| Let me know when it's published! Sorry my manga art is a little....rough draft looking. I have since improved. |
| Posted by: anime4christ Jan 1 2010, 11:54 PM |
| We're still working on it. It should be released soon. (Yeah, I know that's vague. lol) |

| After many a discussion between the editors, and realizing my scary pile of homework isn't going away by itself til the end of this month, we have come up with an official release date: the mangazine shall be released on February 5th. We have never done this before, but even though all deadlines have passed for submissions, we will still accept one type of submission until the end of this month: mangas. Unfortunately, we barely have any manga in this issue of the zine. We will still release on February 5th, but we will be happy to manga if some is submitted a week before the release date. |
| Posted by: ChristianAnimeGirl Jan 19 2010, 04:54 AM |
| I already submitted one manga, would it be okay if I submit another one? I am full of ideas, and might be able to submit something else before the release date. My drawing skills have GREATLY improved since my last submission, so I may be able to submit an eye-pleasing one-shot, or at least, something. |
| Posted by: anime4christ Jan 21 2010, 02:53 AM |
| Sure, you can submit another manga if you want. After January 31st, we probably won't be including any more in this issue though, so you would want to get it in before then. |
| Posted by: anime4christ Feb 14 2010, 06:47 PM |
| Sorry it hasn't been released even a week after the planned release date. I'm still trying to choke it out of ekormekolindo. Stay tuned... |

| Can't wait. ^_^ |
